Mr Dan Dawson

Mr Dawson is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon and part of the team at Check My X-ray. He has a busy NHS practice where he treats a wide range of trauma cases and regularly performs hip and knee replacement surgery.

He studied medicine at Queen’s University Belfast, graduating in 2009, and was awarded the Wilson Orthopaedic Medal the same year. After completing his specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics in Northern Ireland, he undertook a fellowship in Waikato, New Zealand, specialising in hip and knee arthroplasty, including complex revision procedures.

On returning home, Mr Dawson worked as a Consultant in Altnagelvin Hospital before moving to the Ulster Hospital, where he continues to cover a broad trauma remit and carries out elective hip and knee replacements at Musgrave Park Hospital.

As part of Check My X-ray, he is committed to providing patients with clear, expert orthopaedic advice, whether they are injured at home or abroad.
